Home economics and mathematics teacher, Corpus Christi
- 🇺🇸 Corpus Christi, Texas, United States

I came to teaching late, after working as a bank clerk, and 34 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,940 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Shirley
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Shirley: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me home economics in 2016 at Corpus Christi High School. I still remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand.
