Shirley H. Ramirez

Coached cross country for 13 years in Bakersfield

  • 🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States
  • Bakersfield Sports Club
  • 1996 to 2009
  • English
For 13 years I ran the cross country program at Bakersfield Sports Club in Bakersfield. We trained 4 evenings a week, whatever the weather. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I sing in a choir. I'm still learning every day.

I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
