Shireen A. Van der Merwe

Choir director and singer

  • 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
  • Starlight Music School
  • Since 1984
  • English
I play guitar and drums. I started in 1984 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness. I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I run most mornings. I'm still learning every day.

More about Shireen

If you ever danced at one of my shows, I hope it was a good night.

What gifts mean to Shireen: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
