Shima Puja Mahmud
Master of masonry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇧🇩 Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh
- The Beacon Shop
- 1981 to 2018
- English, Bengali, Spanish
I've worked in masonry from 1981 to 2018. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 890 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Shima
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Shima: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
