My trade is welding. I opened my own shop in 2009 in Mumbai and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I like to keep things simple and honest.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Shilpa
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Shilpa: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
