I've spent 22 years as a lecturer in modern history at New Delhi Polytechnic in New Delhi. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk. It sounds small, but students remember small things.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Shefali: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
