For 17 years I ran the swimming program at Southampton Swimming Club in Southampton. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

I still think about the cold winter when we all kept our coats on. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Iași.
