Shanice N. Maharaj
History and agriculture teacher, Johannesburg
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- Since 1982
- English, Afrikaans
For 44 years I have been the history teacher at Baobab Technical College. I teach Year 10 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I never turn anyone away.
More about Shanice
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Shanice: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
