Beacon High School was my second home. I taught physics there from 1982 to 2002, mostly the youngest children.
Over the years I had 820 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Shafiq
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Shafiq: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
