I taught design and technology and English literature at Unity Secondary School, Newcastle upon Tyne. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I ran the science fair after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I walk the dog by the river.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
