Sebastián Cortés
Master of leatherwork, now teaching apprentices
- 🇲🇽 Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico
- Mérida Works
- Since 1991
- Spanish
I've worked in leatherwork since 1991. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 630 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Sebastián
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
