I've been a nurse for 23 years, most of them in mental health at St. Anne's General Hospital in San Diego. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I sing in a choir.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
