Saraswathi Rathnam

Self-taught printmaking artist

  • 🇮🇳 Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
  • Varanasi Studio
  • 1987 to 2024
  • English, Malayalam
I work mostly in printmaking, sometimes woodcarving. My first show was in 1987 at Varanasi Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. I carry a notebook everywhere. My studio is always a bit of a mess.

More about Saraswathi

I've had 3 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.

What gifts mean to Saraswathi: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
