I've been a nurse for 26 years, most of them in palliative care at Hawassa Community Hospital in Hawassa. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I'm always reading two books at once.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Sara
I still get cards from families years later. They're pinned to my fridge.
Areas of care
What gifts mean to Sara: I'd put gifts toward a training course in palliative care.
