I coached baseball at Elmwood Youth Club from 1989 to 2017. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
More about Sara
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Sara: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
