Samuel Tumusiime Kato
Traditional drumming player and teacher in Dar es Salaam
- 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Andes Music School
- 2009 to 2019
- English
I've played traditional drumming from 2009 to 2019, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I teach about 10 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I run most mornings.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Samuel
I wrote my first song when I was 20. It was terrible and I still love it.
