Sami Yasir Ghanem
Spanish teacher at Highland Girls' School, 2000 to 2014
- 🇪🇬 Alexandria, Alexandria, Egypt
- Highland Girls' School
- 2000 to 2014
- English, Arabic
I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and 14 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I had 840 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Sami
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Sami: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
