I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and 30 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,620 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Salma
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Salma: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
