Helping people break into software
- 🇰🇪 Nakuru, Nakuru, Kenya
- Hillcrest Youth Network
- Since 2016
- English, Swahili
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 250 people through Hillcrest Youth Network.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
More about Salim
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Salim: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
