Salim Bakari Mwende
Mentor in trades and farming
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Nairobi Youth Network
- 2004 to 2022
- English, Swahili
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 1,040 people through Nairobi Youth Network.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Salim
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
What gifts mean to Salim: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
