Saba Marta Hailemariam

Environmental science and Spanish teacher, Addis Ababa

  • 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • St. Joseph's Boys' School
  • 2017 to 2025
  • English, Amharic
I taught environmental science at St. Joseph's Boys' School in Addis Ababa from 2017 to 2025. Most days I taught teenagers, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk. I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Saba: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
