I coached rowing at Willow Creek Swimming Club from 1993 to 2018. Most of my players were between 11 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm still learning every day.
What gifts mean to Saanvi: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
