I taught religious studies at Andes Technical College in Birmingham from 2006 to 2024. Most days I taught teenagers, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Outside the classroom I fix old bicycles. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ryan
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
