I've coached hockey at Sacramento Athletic Club since 2018. Most of my players were between 11 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
