I taught agriculture at Hope Grammar School in Raleigh from 1979 to 1989. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 270 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
