Ruma Moumita Islam
Helping people break into engineering
- 🇧🇩 Chattogram, Chattogram, Bangladesh
- Kilimanjaro Association
- 1994 to 2019
- English, Bengali
For 25 years I've mentored people in engineering and recovery. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Ruma
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Ruma: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
