Ruma Ayesha Alam
Master of painting and decorating, now teaching apprentices
- 🇧🇩 Sylhet, Sylhet, Bangladesh
- Little Sylhet Repairs
- Since 1994
- English, Bengali
My trade is painting and decorating. I opened my own shop in 1994 in Sylhet and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.

Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Ruma: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
