I've worked in upholstery from 1998 to 2016. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 720 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 17 years later for another job.
More about Rubén
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Rubén: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
