I've worked in shoemaking from 1991 to 2006. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 500 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
