I taught history at San Jose High School in San Jose from 1996 to 2015. Most days I taught Grade 8, and my door was open at lunch.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Rocío
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Rocío: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
