Roberto S. Chávez

Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices

  • 🇨🇴 Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia
  • The Ashford Trades Guild
  • Since 2012
  • Spanish, French
I've worked in weaving since 2012. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 570 apprentices. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 15 years later for another job.

What gifts mean to Roberto: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
