I coached softball at Tuxtla Gutiérrez Community Club from 1982 to 1999. Most of my players were between 11 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
What gifts mean to Roberto: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
