My subject is modern history, and for 37 years I got to share it with undergraduates at Birmingham University.
Former students now work as a shop assistant and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Robert
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Robert: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
