I've been a nurse for 20 years, most of them in school nursing at Victory University Hospital in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
