I coached rugby at Nagoya Athletic Club from 1991 to 2016. Most of my players were between 12 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
What gifts mean to Ren: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
