I coached cross country at Cambridge St. Joseph's Swimming Club from 1993 to 2016. Most of my players were between 11 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Rahma: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
