I've been a nurse for 30 years, most of them in orthopedics at Maple Ridge University Hospital in Grand Rapids. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
