Rafael F. Díaz
Master of pottery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇺🇸 Reading, Pennsylvania, United States
- Crown Workshop
- 2015 to 2023
- English
I've worked in pottery from 2015 to 2023. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 230 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Rafael
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Rafael: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.

You fixed our roof in 2019 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Mwanza.
