I coached netball at Istanbul Football Club from 2000 to 2025. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Rabia
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
