Queen Fatima Zakari
Master of masonry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Nnewi, Anambra, Nigeria
- Nnewi Workshop
- Since 2008
- English, Yoruba
I've worked in masonry since 2008. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 520 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Queen
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Queen: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
