Putri Maya Harahap
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇩 Bandung, West Java, Indonesia
- Since 2010
- English, Indonesian
I've worked in thatching since 2010. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 960 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
More about Putri
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Putri: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
