I've spent 40 years as a lecturer in civil engineering at Kilimanjaro State University in Durham. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I'm always reading two books at once.
More about Prof. Wade
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
What gifts mean to Prof. Wade: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
