I taught materials science at New Delhi Institute of Technology from 1995 to 2003, and supervised 54 dissertations along the way.
Former students now work as a night-shift cleaner and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Prof. Shetty
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Prof. Shetty: Any gift helps me keep buying books for students who can't afford them.
