I've spent nine years as a lecturer in marine biology at Hillcrest State University in Birmingham. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Prof. Rowe
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
