I've spent nine years as a lecturer in materials science at Pelotas Institute of Technology in Pelotas. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a farmhand and in a dozen other fields. It is the best part of this job.
More about Prof. Oliveira
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Prof. Oliveira: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
