I've spent 15 years as a lecturer in economics at Brookfield Polytechnic in Newcastle. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I walk the dog by the river.

What gifts mean to Prof. Nguyen: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
