I've spent 45 years as a lecturer in organic chemistry at Cedar Grove State University in Caruaru. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a bank clerk and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
What gifts mean to Prof. Miranda: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
