My subject is modern history, and for 48 years I get to share it with undergraduates at Kharkiv Institute of Technology.
Former students now work as a night-shift cleaner and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
What gifts mean to Prof. Maksimov: Any gift helps me keep buying books for students who can't afford them.
