I've spent 38 years as a lecturer in organic chemistry at Yogyakarta Polytechnic in Yogyakarta. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I fix old bicycles.

Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Prof. Kurniawan: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
