I spent eleven years as a lecturer in astronomy at Petrópolis College in Petrópolis. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I run most mornings.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Prof. Gonçalves
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Prof. Gonçalves: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
